General Skilled Migration in Australia
The Skilled stream of the Migration Program is designed to attract migrants who make a significant contribution to the Australian economy and fill positions where no Australian workers are available. Skilled migrants have very high participation rates in the workforce, helping to stimulate economic growth, which results in more jobs.
The General Skilled Migration program includes three kinds of different visas:

Second, you need to do a self-point check to check your current points. You can calculate your current points here – Points Calculator
- Subclass 189 – Independent Skilled Visa – Minimum points requirement – 65
- Subclass 190 – Skilled Nominated Visa – Minimum points requirement – 60
- Subclass 491 – Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa – Minimum points requirement – 50
